ClearPage Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026 · Applies to the ClearPage app for iPhone and iPad.
1. The short version
ClearPage collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no network requests. Everything the app does — text recognition, speech, your reading profile — happens entirely on your device.
2. Controller / contact

3. What stays on your device
ClearPage processes the following data exclusively on your device; none of it is transmitted to me or to any third party:
- Photos and camera images you choose to scan. Text recognition uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. Images are processed in memory and are not uploaded anywhere.
- Recognized text, which is displayed in your reading layout and discarded when you leave it.
- Your reading profile (typeface, spacing, colors, tint), stored locally in the app's own storage so the app and its extensions can share it.
- Read Aloud speech, generated by Apple's on-device speech synthesis.
4. Permissions
ClearPage asks for camera access (to capture text you want to read) and photo library access (to scan pictures you choose). Both are optional — you can paste text instead — and are used solely for the purpose stated in the permission prompt.
5. Third parties
The app embeds no third-party SDKs, trackers, or advertising frameworks. If you install ClearPage through the App Store or TestFlight, Apple processes data under its own terms; see Apple's privacy policy.
6. Children
Because ClearPage collects no personal data, it is safe for readers of any age, including children.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Since ClearPage stores no personal data outside your device, the practical answer to any data request is: the data exists only on your device, and deleting the app deletes it. For any questions, email me.
8. Changes
If a future version of ClearPage ever changes any of the above (for example, an optional online feature), this policy will be updated here before that version ships.
