Why I build what I build
Cut one curb, and everyone rolls through.
A while back my tech lead, Chris Ward, an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and neurodivergent communities, gave a talk about the curb cut effect: the ramps cut into curbs for wheelchairs ended up helping everyone, from strollers to suitcases to delivery carts. It stayed with me. I'm autistic and dyslexic, and I realized I could cut the curbs I already know from the inside, designing from lived experience, for everyone's benefit.
That thread runs through everything I make. By day I'm an iOS developer who's shipped apps to millions of users; on the side I'm doing an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence. My app, ClearPage, grew straight out of that idea, and it is free, forever.
